Nicolás García Karpenko will play the next 2024-2025 season in Madrid, where he will continue his training phase with the junior team of the Pablo Laso Academy, a high-performance educational and sports institution designed for basketball players from around the world who seek to achieve its maximum potential.

The Andalusian champion with the Málaga basketball team in the Andalusian Championship has accepted the offer of Pablo Laso’s academy to start a new training project with demanding individual technical training sessions in the capital of Spain, in the place where the players are made, where the future is created, the only club that combines sports training and an elite basketball academy.

Born just one season ago, the Pablo Laso Academy follows in the footsteps of the Rafa Nadal Academy in terms of developing young talents through comprehensive training and, under the direction of the renowned coach after whom it is named, Pablo Laso, now it seeks, for the second consecutive season, to train the young basketball players of the future.

After seeing what Nicolás García Karpenko was able to do in the Tryouts held on March 1 and 2 at the facilities that the white team has at the Camilo José Cela University and at the SEK El Castillo International School in Madrid, the Academy of Pablo Laso has put all his effort into not letting Karpenko escape, in the conviction that the player from Marbella can be an important asset to his basketball academy program. The proposal has been formalized in a full invitation with a scholarship for the next 2024-2025 season, renewable to a second season if Karpenko decides to delay his landing plans in United States from the 2025-2026 season to the 2026-2027 season.

Replacing Miguel Ángel Lago, the new technical director of the Academy for the 2024-2025 season, Mariano de Pablos, a coach with proven experience in the world of basketball after having been one of the most famous coaches in the Community of Madrid with the training teams of the Real Madrid and Estudiantes youth teams and becoming the youngest coach in the ACB League at only 31 years old, has offered Karpenko a very complete academic package.

It includes enrollment in the Basketball Academy on an internal basis, with four sessions a week of collective training on one of the Pablo Laso Academy teams. At least two additional individual training sessions with a staff of highly qualified coaches and a specific development and physical preparation plan, with three sessions a week of physical work and conditioning with the club’s team of physical trainers. Sports clothing for competition and various training sets, transfers and matches in the Community of Madrid competition and tournaments.

Additionally, an accommodation plan in a shared room with another player in the Academy’s residence in an area of ​​10,000 m2 located in the Madrid town of Torrelodones, with its own private pool, natural areas, various outbuildings and personal supervision under a family that lives in one of the residence halls, with breakfast and two meals included per day designed by a sports nutritionist.

In addition, the federation card in the Madrid Basketball Federation with Pablo Laso Academy, physiotherapy services, support and advice in the academic enrollment process, private sports medical insurance, transportation card valid throughout the entire region are also part of the package.
