Karpenko, at 16 years old, is the most valuable basketball player and the one with the most awards in the U18 Junior Gold League of Málaga and Melilla, and in the U16 Cadet Federation Cup of Málaga. Lately, he takes the awards in pairs and this weekend, the versatile and ambidextrous forward took home a new MVP and two double-doubles.
Karpenko’s thing has no name
On Friday, Nicolás García Karpenko visited the lands of the legendary Roman city of Cártama to play the penultimate game of the Provincial Junior Gold League of Málaga and Melilla that pitted CBSP 06-07 Rojo against CB Cártama, with a resounding victory for the visitors by 43 -63. Karpenko was the most complete player, MVP of the game and candidate for MVP of gameday 12, with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also signed 2 shots of 3 points, 3/5 free throws and 60% effectiveness, 2 steals of the ball, 1 assist and 6 fouls received in 27 minutes of play. The Marbella player was a real headache for the local team, who committed 6 of the 8 personal fouls they committed (75%). From the beginning, the enormous Karpenko took control of the match. In the ten minutes of the first quarter, with the score 10-22 in favor of the visitors, the team from Marbella had already scored 11 points, half as many as the Sampedreños and one more than the Cartameños. The only quarter that the locals won 23-15 was the third, the same one that Karpenko was sitting on the bench.
