Cerrado de Aguila is recognised now as one of the best nine hole golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
The wide American style fairways are generally forgiving, add to that a masterful bit of course planning and superb views all along the route and a beautifully new modern and stunning new club house and you have all the ingredients for a very enjoyable days golfing in the heart of the Costa del Golf.
The course boasts to having one of the longest Par 5 holes on the coast at some 515 Metres.
The nine hole Cerrado del Aguila Golf Club is located near to the Mijas racecourse some 5 minutes drive from Fuengirola and forms of the expanding Mijas “Golf Valley”.
It was designed by Mr. Ignacio García, well-known Spanish architect of golf courses, to suit players of all levels. It is a par 35 nine-hole course, with a further nine holes currently under development to eventually form a par 71 – 18 hole course.
The course is well designed with lakes and wide fairways, sea and mountain views and spacious greens. Players of all levels enjoy playing here and are looking forward to the next nine holes which are planned for the near future. Due to the accessibility of the terrain, the course can be walked quite comfortably, taking around one hour 30 minutes for nine holes walking.
The resort has put plenty of resources into practice and teaching with large areas set aside for the driving range, chipping, bunker and putting green. The golf academy offers a wide range of classes from beginners to lower handicapped players.
